PSC604 sound card problems
Hi ya'll..long time no see.
Im having a problem with my sound card. I bought a Philips PSC604 4to1 soiund card a few months ago. I recently refomatted and cannot install the drivers. The web drivers and utilities on the install CD totally screw my OS booting. I have a VIA mobo (cant remember the specific model) and i think that might have something to do with it. When i install the drivers from the web, or the CD it wont let me digitally sign for the drivers and sometimes exits the install program, or just bluescreens. Then the computer reboots itself and hangs on booting up. It runs totally fine w/o the drivers installed, but consistantly when i attempt to install the things it means i'll have to reformat my HD soon afterward. When talking to philips about it, they say "make sure you have an updated bios, and it should work" but what i really need from them (or you guys) is just the damn driver.. the .sys or .ini file.. Im on dialup..and the drivers you d/l from the web are like 20 or 0MB for a bunch of QSouund stuff i dont need. Can someone pleeease help me? Philips says it cant just send me the .ini files, they want me to take the bundled software with the drivers as well. HELP!!! |
