LCD Monitor Suggestions

I'm looking to buy a LCD Monitor, Wide screen, 24".
I like a lot of display space. Something good for medium gaming as I usually don't crank to the highest setting.
What should I be looking for ? My finances are somewhat limited, but you live with a monitor through several computers.
Thanks guys for the help in the past.

Instead of getting bigger, I got multiple and smaller a couple of years ago and I much prefer it than 1 single large desktop.

I have 2 19" monitors which gave me as much screen real estate as 1 30".

I can also have 2 applications in full size and full screen.

I even bought a mount for the 2 monitors so that they are even across my desktop.

$200 x 2, $100 for the mount = $500

what's your price range for the monitor?

I do what Cyn does. I've also seen people go for one biggish monitor (20") and two smaller ones (17-18"). In that case they usually started with the two 18s and bought a bigger monitor to add to the setup. Works really nicely, is often cheaper, and if one goes wrong you can make do with one while getting a replacement.

I went the other route and use a 24" Dell widescreen. I couldn't be happier with it.

I have a 20" Widescreen LCD Dell monitor.

The only thing that makes me want to go back to a CRT monitor is the fact that a lot of movies look like crap, especially if they have been compressed. HD movies look great. Xvid movies look terrible whereas on my old CRT they looked fine. Maybe its just me, but I liked how CRT monitors hid a lot of the quality problems with movies. Beggers can't be choosers and thin is a lot better.

That Ultrasharp is considered to be one of the best LCDs on the market. I have owned my Dell Ultrasharp 2407WFP 24" LCD Monitor for a long time, I think the Dell 2407WFP is an extremely well-though-out, high-quality piece of hardware works great. But now the 2408WFP is almost here, it's a great upgrade to 2407WFP, maybe you can give it a look.

The only advice I can give is that I've seen many an LCD in my day and Dell still proves to be the highest quality that I've seen. I can't tell a difference between the Dell LCDs I use at work and a CRT while my home LCD looks different.

Thanks guys, I like the 2 monitor suggestion.
As for Dell, I know they carry great monitors.
My price range is about 300-350 right now but I can do one smaller and the second later.

I've got a Benq FP241WZ. great monitor but they are plagued with a blackout problem, so I would not recommend this monitor.

I've had 3 swap outs to get to one which doesn't black out while I am using it.

Shame, cos otherwise it's a beautiful screen.

I recently bought a Samsung SyncMaster 2232BW which is fantastic and much cheaper than the amazing 24" Dell I use at work. Its certainly good enough for use at home and it looks slick too. The stand is a little basic with only a small amount of tilt but it only cost £220, £10 an inch!

Make sure your video card can handle having two monitors, if you haven't done so already.
