Everything is/was set to use either QuickTime or WMP plugin (strictly the Windows media formats). VLC is not even set to be used.

Installed FF3 on my XP machine yesterday. There is some improvement in tab response time and I have not had to reopen FF once. :)

My friend insists that NoScript is an absolute must; so far it's just a pain in the arse. Are their any must have add-ons and is NoScript one of them?

I personally think that Noscript is essential on FF. It gives you control over all of the annoying things out there on sites and it is easy to allow everything with one click if you desire.

edit: grammatical fix

Does anyone know how to restrict what will pop up when you're typing in addresses into the primary address bar? FF2 did a good job of restricting to the most commonly visited sites starting with what you'd already typed, but FF3 throws in all my bookmarks in random order in addition to that. Given what it's popping up, I'd almost rather just disable that feature, but I'm having some trouble finding it. ideas?

There are critical add-ons... for the way I use the web. And there are others that are useless... to me. But if you want a suggestion, I couldn't post to forums without Make Link.

Noscript only needs to be configured once and does get rid of the obnoxious advertising crap which is great. The hard part is figuring out what to green light to get the site to work without the hovering full motion ad.

I'll check it out. Thanks.

Where do y'all get your info from? On my computer, when viewing only one website or page Firefox consumes needed resources but it just SUCKS the RAM dry when I open more than 8 websites or pages.

Youtube HD plays very choppy and I don;t even think that can be fixed, I'm still looking around though.
