2nd gen iPod Shuffle + Audible - Tilted Forum Project Discussion Community

Hey all, it's been forever since I have posted on TFP, but this seems like a good place to ask this. I actually have a Zune (yeah, get your jokes in now) and it doesn't support Audible. The iPod Shuffle is super-cheap, and I have a gift card for a retailer that carries them. Does anyone know if the 2nd gen iPod Shuffle works with Audible audiobooks? Specifically, does it support bookmarking (i.e. pausing a book part-way in and then resuming at that spot later on).

And also, if anyone has used a 2nd gen shuffle with Audible, I'd love to hear a review.

According to Google, yes, the 2nd gen iPod Shuffle can bookmark Audible files. However, unless you only have one book on the Shuffle, how are you going to choose it from your list?

I was thinking of doing this very thing, well, not from audible but I have a number of audiobooks like His Dark Materials Trilogy and the entire Harry Potter series. I was going to sample the wifes and see just how it worked out.

I'd like to use it for listening before falling asleep.

audiobooks that have bookmarks are m4b files, I converted all of my Philip Pullman CDs to MP3s, but that didn't work out so well. Was much better when I converted it to m4b.
