XP asks for a password that isn't there...
All right, I have one account for XP, my admin account. There is no password for this account.
However, whenever xp auto logs in, it tries putting in a password (a wrong one) and stall on the log on screen until a screensaver comes up. After the screensaver, I can get to the welcome screen, click on my name (the only one there) and log in. What the hecks up? |

Sounds like somebody has set up autologin with something like tweak UI. If you have tweakUI installed, you can turn this off. If not and you have access to the registry and you can do this.
Go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon To disable, change the AutoAdminLogon value to "0" to turn it off, or you can change the DefaultPassword to the correct password. |
