hard drive dead?
I'm running an Abit NF-S2G it shut down and would not boot up. I found a stick of memory that had gone bad and removed it. The only thing i could get after this is the bio set-up page. I could not get it to go past that. When i tried to boot-up it would just continue running a loop back to the bio page. I removed the hard drive and placed it in my other computer. This didn't change a thing still would not boot-up. I lost alot of critical information by not having a back-up tough way to learn that mistake. Any advice would help, maybe all is not lost? Thank you for reading this and any ideas are helpful.

When you put it in the second computer, did you add it as second hard drive? or did you replace the primary?
If you added it as a second drive, did you set the jumpers correctly, for a master/slave or are both set as cable select? |

Good luck, and let us know what happens. I'm sorry to say, that if either of those don't work, it's possible the drive "died". How old is the drive? They pick the nastiest times to stop working. |
