Windows Mobile - AV and Firewall Software

Hi Guys

I've been tasked to find an antivirus and firewall solution for my client's mobile devices. They're a mix of WM for SmartPhone, PocketPC and Professional.

The client has a McAfee Enterprise License, but there have been a few issues with devices running McAfee VirusScan Mobile. I know AirScanner as well as Trend have a mobile AV offering, but the firewall requirement is quite new to me.

If anyone has any experience in this regard, I'd appreciate any kind of advice or direction on this one.

Thanks,
Henri

Ooh interesting. I'd be curious to hear about this as well, and whether it's necessary for WM devices.

I recall when the virus companies started making virus software for PalmOS. I laughed and laughed... because buggy code from crappy apps was more of a concern than virus. I was testing them for Viacom and McAfee.

as far as firewalls, that's interesting in some ways, in others, not so much.

I'd like to hear more also.

I tried the Trend product on our Verizon (USTAR) V6700s running win mobile 5 and it sucked too many resources. Ended up taking it off.

Good luck!

That's the problem I've found with most of them.

The directive to roll this out obviously came from the I.S. department, but it's the end-users who end bearing the brunt of short battery life and slower mobile devices.

I've found this a problem with most mobile apps to be honest.
