wireless problems
damn router isnt working properly. spent the better part of the last 2 days trying to sort it out. i can get online but only if i plug the laptop into the cable modem.
started a couple of days ago. came home to blinking clocks and when i tried to get online, got the "not connected" message. went to use the desktop and that was working fine. well, i called linksys customer support for help and now the desktop wont connect either. (the laptop does, but only when wired) i have a netgear wireless USB for the laptop that seems to be connecting but i still cant get online. the onlything i can see that is amiss with the settings is the MAC number is different on the netgear USB than it is for the router. when i have time later, i'm going to try reloading the neatgear software to see if that solves the problem for the laptop. then i can try to figure out how to get the desktop back online. maybe it'll be easier to just buy a new system. i hate computers sometimes.... |
