Recording TV on your computer
I am interested in using my computer like a DVR. There are some products offered out there that claim to make this possible. Has anyone tried them? Please share you successes for failures.
Also, I have found some web services that also claim to provide internet TV content. Has anyone tried these? I am looking to spend less than $100 on hardware or $15 a month for an internet subscription I have a digital cable TV box and a cable modem. Thanks in advance for your responses.

It's funny, I love my pvr 150 but never got the ir blaster to work - hell I never even read enough to figure out what it was for.
What does it do and is it worth the effort?

If you have a digital cable box, you can use it as a sort of computer-controlled universal remote control to change the channels for you. You put the little infrared eye where the cable box can see it, and it will send 'change channel' signals.
