Recording TV on your computer
I am interested in using my computer like a DVR. There are some products offered out there that claim to make this possible. Has anyone tried them? Please share you successes for failures.
Also, I have found some web services that also claim to provide internet TV content. Has anyone tried these? I am looking to spend less than $100 on hardware or $15 a month for an internet subscription I have a digital cable TV box and a cable modem. Thanks in advance for your responses. |
PVR 150 + the included IR Blaster + GBPVR is the setup I run.

It's funny, I love my pvr 150 but never got the ir blaster to work - hell I never even read enough to figure out what it was for.
What does it do and is it worth the effort? |
If you have a digital cable box, you can use it as a sort of computer-controlled universal remote control to change the channels for you. You put the little infrared eye where the cable box can see it, and it will send 'change channel' signals.

I've used Sage TV for a few years now with a PVR-250. I'm using a serial cable to control my DCT2000 digital cable box.
