Windows 3.1 to CD?
 

I've already found a bunch of stuff on the internet, but I figured I'd delve the brain trust here just in case.

We have the Windows 3.1 install disks just sort of sitting around and we want to move them to CD, mostly because we think it would be neat to do.

The only trouble we've speculated running into was if we should choose to install Windows 3.1, if it would install from one singular CD assuming we had just copied the information over superficially without special consideration.

Anyone have any ideas? comments?

works just fine. I have a CD with DOS, Windows 3.1, 95, 95, NT3.5, NT4.

You just have to have a boot disk that will activate the CDROM drive on bootup.

You could probably make a bootable CD with some effort.

Those old floppy disks usually have the boot instructions on disk 1, and the files on the rest of them. Recreating the directory structure exactly is probably a requirement for this to work.

Definitely a fun idea. :)
