Batch rename?
Is there any program for WinXP that will let me do a batch rename of file extensions?
|
what about the command prompt (start, run, type "cmd"):
cmd:\>rename *.jpeg *.jpg makes all .jpeg files in that folder .jpg (e.g. "test.jpeg" -> "test.jpg") also works with copy |
also, you can open notepad, write:
rename *.jpeg *.zip (for example) save it as rename.bat, move it to the folder where the files are and double click it. You have just writed your very own batch rename program :) |
if the above suggestions don't work, try this free app called UltraRenamer: http://bimbo.fjfi.cvut.cz/~brousil/software.php.
it's worked great for me. |
