Console to Laptop connections
I'm currently at uni in the UK, and due to certain space limitations i havn't been able to bring a TV with me. What i do have is my laptop (Dell XPS M1710, 17" screen), a Wii and a TV output in my wall.
My main priority is playing on my Wii, there are some good games coming out. Is there a way i can connect the tri-component/scart output from the wii to my laptop? I've taken a look around, i think i could probably cobble together some sort of system, but i think some advice is needed first. As for getting TV, i've seen several dongles that plug into the USB port, any recommendations or ideas about these? Many thanks |
How much you planning on spending?

get a flatscreen tv with tvtunner built in if possible? apart from that, yes, like daniel_ said, it will depend on the $$ you're willing to spend. theres a few things possible for getting your Wii to your laptop. ALthough that might take some time to find.

Probably up to a maximum of £50/$100, i'm not exactly rolling in cash. I really don't have space for a tv, otherwise you know my student loan would have been used for an absoloute beast, nuts to be able to afford food!

Even if you figure a solution, I can't help but think there will be a delay that'll make the Wii hard to play...Doesn't really matter for TV but the lag between when the Wii puts out an image and when your dell will display it will make many quick reaction games very annoying.
