So, I'm lookin' to record some phone calls....
I've been getting the strangest phone calls.....
My sister is getting divorced and she's been getting some pretty nasty phone calls.....I've been getting a few heavy breathers myself....(I'm pretty vocal about the idiot....) I know there is a way to record these phone calls on your computer using software, but there is just too many to count. Does anybody have any favorites? Better yet, any good free favorites? We're both on XP and both on broadband if that makes any difference. |
I've not been a fan of the computer picking up the phone line.. especially since then you either need to record ALL the calls, or just the call that is coming in now. Not to mention that you need to be next to the computer in order to do it.
I personally use this device : http://www.radioshack.com/images/Pro.../43/43-476.jpg it connects to any phone line handset that is not digital. |
Check your State's laws on recording telephone conversations first. Most permit it, but some require you to notify the other person that you are recording. Then get caller ID and call blocking. Caller ID is the best way to thwart unwanted callers.

I've checked on the laws and the way I understand it you can record them if they're harrassing in nature. I'm going to discuss it with a lawyer friend tomorrow.
The thing is he calls from several different locations. Sometimes it's from a cell phone (which is easy enough to spot and avoid) sometimes it's from random payphones, and sometimes it's from his various friends' houses. |
best suggestion is just goto radio shack and tell them u need the phone recorder, or just look around the store.
it wont get the # or anything like that but it'll record the conversation, more $$, the more features |
