mp3 firmware upgade - Tilted Forum Project Discussion Community

I have a 512mb mp3 player, and i want to upgrade the firmware on it. The details ihave of the mp3 are, SD85001E - this might be the model number i dont know, it was last updated on 2005/01/26 and then there is this which i dont understand, ACT_V3.0.42, i dont know what this means. Can somebody help me please.

hard to help if we don't even know what MP3 player you are talking about... please give more information like a manufacturer?

Its a sumvision mp3 player usb2.0 with a samsung chip

thats the thing, iv'e tried to find out, i've looked inside and outsde my mp3 and nothing. All i got was the info i posted at the beggining

that's kind of like telling the mechanic you need a new belt, but not knowing what car you drive...

can you find the receipt for it, or match it up on the web to find the model?

why do you even need to upgrade the firmware anyways? if you can't do the basics, you probably should steer clear or messing with firmware.

lol. I got it from the internet. Their wasn't any reciept with it. And yes, iv tried matching it up on the web but nothing. i need it because it's starting to play up and switchin on and off, music not playing properly. Ive typed all the info i know about it on google but nothing. The only thing i could do was go on the samsung firmware site and that tells me everything i need to know and how to upgrade it but without the model number i cant do anything.

oh ye, it has a samsung chip

find one with a simmilar name as the one you have.

when my samsung mp3 player had problems, the canadian website CLEARLY had my mp3 player's firmware there but only the basic one.(same that was causing the problem) so i looked on the US site and found the same mp3 player( YT-M6x to YT-M6) and it worked.
