pc only boots when reseating the cpu
hi there guys woke up yesterday and my pc won't boot so i tried reseating everything and nothing worked but when i re-seated the cpu it did work and i used it for a bit. then when i shut the pc down and used it again at a different time it won't boot. my question is would it be the cmos battery, cpu, or the mobo? it's a 2.6 ghz p4 asus p4c800 1gb mem.

when you press power, does anything at all happen? does the screen show anything, does the computer make any beeps or anything?

thanks for the response but it was fixed last night. there was no beep at all which made it kinda confusing but reseated the cpu again and it did the trick

If you have to contunually reseat the CPU to restart, then you may be looking at either a loose pin on the processor, or an issue with the MB Pinch socket for the CPU.
