Sony Sued Over Blu-Ray

Quote:
1) If they lose is it possible for Sony to produce their Blu-Ray tech on a different media? 2) Do you think this company has a snowballs chance in hell of winning the law suit against Sony?

I don't see Sony losing this. Whether they're right or wrong, which I can't say, it's more likely they'd settle if thing weren't going well. Blu-Ray is just fine, and as soon as they start releasing some amazing games for PS3, it'll be here to stay.

This is just going to turn into another DVD + versus DVD - debate, Sony is going to settle this if they have to, or just acquire Target Tech. so that it doesn't matter and in the end we'll all end up with HD/Blu-Ray multi-players (I've already seen the adds for one) that are more expensive but necessary in order to be compatible.
Personally I'd love to see them win and take a chunk out of Sony, but in the end that just gets put back on the consumers anyway.

They're suing over a durability aspect of the design, not the compression storage, playback technology etc...
Sony can handle this. /happy with his old school dvd, thanks.

They are being sued for the protective film of the disc. The technology of Blu-Ray is not in question. This will not affect Sony or the development of Blu-Ray at all.
