Illustrator Help!
I have to edit one of my projects for tomorrow, but whenever I try to open it (it always opened before, how else would I have completed it) it says that there isn't enough memory to open illustration. The file is only 2MB is size. I tried opening my other Illustrator documents, and get the same message. Anyone know what the problem is?

Yes, not enough scratch space on the disk. erase or move some file. Empty the recycling bin, and do some cleanup then try again.

How can I erase this file if it's the only copy I have? Is there a way to clean up scratch disks?

Sorry, i typed to fast there. I meant erase un-needed files on the harddrive. Is your HDD within 1gb of full? If so, this is a common cause of this problem.
Have you tried opening this file on another computer, perhaps in a lab on your campus somewhere?

I did. The file works on the computer I use in class. My HD still has 20GB of free space on it left.

Maybe the case is a available physical memory. Available RAM.
Or I might have no idea what I am talking about.

I have 1GB of memory and a 120HDD with around 20GB of space left. It started after I saved my 36MB final project file. When I tried to open it after that, it started giving me that message.

Try doing a disk cleanup of your HD, then afterwards if the problem persists, a defragmentation of the drive is the next logical step. Your drive may still have a lot of memory left, but if the occupied memory that you have is all cluttered, then it becomes that much harer to access the free memory.
Get it?

I did disk cleanup. Was surprised that it freed 10GB of space on my HDD, but that still didn't solve the problem.
My drive was defragged about 2 months ago. It couldn't have been "fragged" that fast sine I haven't really installed anything new.
