sorting files
since I'm to busy to program it my self, does anyone know of a program that can do the following:
i need to point it to a directory, and it will scan through it, and organize the files by extension, and then break those groups into groups of 1000. ie it will create one folder per extension, and then fill that with several folders, each containing 1000 files of each extension. thanks for the help.

Sorry, kind of late. Could be a simple bat. Are the files at the base of the first directory, or does the code have to traverse an existing tree while building the new?
