I'm looking for a very end-user-friendly gallery module for websites. It can be PHP or whatever, so long as it's *nix compatible. I've used the usual galleries included with hosting packages but this one needs to be "Next Generation", with ultimate upload and download friendliness. It should take care of thumbnails, allow private albums, and ideally even handle movie media types without much additional coding. The main purpose is to share family stuff with people who barely manage to navigate snapfish. I'll be setting it up but the webmaster is in no way an advanced user.

I have photopost and it has been very simple to use for the community that uses it, my family tree.

It is php based, can have persmissions for private gallery, handles movies, and the user community helps with php coding modifications.

I'd love to see something a bit more AJAX, Flash based like the newest Web2.0 stuff, but this program is over 2 years old has a large following and is still being nurtured and cared for.

I have had good success with Gallery2, it is especially nice that it integrates rather seamlessly with Drupal.
