Extremely Low upload speeds on BT?
Hi everyone, i'm having trouble with my upload speeds when using azureus. It is slow as hell. And sometimes non existant.
I know my isp (Rogers) has recently implemented changes to prevent bt activity, but apparently azureus has found a way around it. For download anyway (which I never had a problem with) Is there any way to get my upload speed back to normal?

is this a recent change, or has it always been slow for you. first off, at the bottom of azureus, is the 'NAT OK' light green? if it is, have you enabled the encryption option, that is what gets around there packet shapping, select the require encryption, but allow non-encrypted connections in case the other users aren't supporting encryption yet, and change the minimum level to RC4.

The NAT light is indeed green. Encryption is on, and here is what I have checked off right now: Require encrypted transport. Minimum level: RC4

just a question: why do you WANT to upload? i thought the point of torrents were to get stuff for free! haha. but seriously, try a diffrent software and see if you get better results. i know my utorrent is maxed out at 70k/s for my computer. but download speeds can reach 300k/s.

certain torrent rings require you to maintain a ratio or else they kick you out

haha! you guys took that too seriously.
I know how torrents work. upload and downloads keep it active etc.. i was just curious if you were trying to upload your own stuff or what. and for me, since mine is capped at 70k/s, and i download constantly, theres no way i can get a 1:1 or better. right now, on demonoid, my ratio is 0.54. and i even upload my own torrents!

Even with a cap of 50K/s, I don't have a ratio of below 2:1 on any of the torrent sites I go to. However, that does not help the problem at hand. I'll poke around at some of the sites I am a member of, as I do recall seeing something about Rogers problems.
