30 gig Ipod help
Ok, so here the situation. I keep getting the ipod is corrupted when I hook it up to the computer. It then suggests that I restore the ipod or unplug it and plug it back in. If I click on restore an error message comes up and tells me that the files necessary for a restore cannot be found. Unplugging it and plugging it back in does nothing. I've tried all the R's. Nothing works. Today I brought it back to the apple store and consulted with one of the techs. He issued me a new one. He just said that I happened to get a bad one. Two bad ones in a row....I don't think so. Anyone know of anything I can do? This is on a windows xp computer with svc pack 2.

If it's not the iPod then perhaps it's iTunes? When I got my new iPod, I was forced to upgrade iTunes and a lot of things didn't work with my new iPod. I reinstalled iTunes and things went back to normal. In my case, it looks like a bad install of iTunes. Perhaps the same thing is happening to you?

I had the same problem, and had 2 bad ones in a row as well. When I called up Apple I found out that the one the tech had given me was a refurbished one. Any that they give you at the apple store they said are refurbished (though they did not mention that at all to me). They then at their cost paid for me to ship it to them, and sent me a new one.
