Favorite online group interaction-ware?
Here I am again, seeking software nirvana.
I need an online group organizer. Nothing hardcore. Just something to allow a small group to interact online on projects vs. time. To-dos, group edits, comments, discussions, etc. It should allow for ~50 separate projectish documents each with its own set of tasks. We need some kind of calendar view. Email notifications would be a nice touch. Hell, basically a fancy picnic planner. Availability is important and there's no budget for setting up our own server. Creative use of tools not necessarily meant as "business grade" would be fine. Googlish/yahooish things would be fine. I pity the next fool who tries to google "groupware." Thanks all. /staggers off to make more coffee Edit: Forum software could work. I have no objection to setting up a cheap website with yabb/phpbb/etc. It'd need a calendar mod of some kind. Great for discussions but I expect frustration with group document editing. Unless that's a forum feature I haven't seen... Just looking for idea love.

What about creating your own group at groups.yahoo.com? You mention Yahoo, but I wasn't sure quite sure if you'd actually tried to create your own group yet.
I don't have any experience creating/maintaining a group there, but I know it at least has something like most of the features you mentioned.

Thanks Moskie. I'd looked in their calendar and thought it looked barren compared to what I remembered.
It's close. It could work if the calendar were more closely integrated. Gad, I just spent a bunch of time messing with Zimbra. Looks damn impressive. If time weren't a problem...
