animated gifs not working at home
Someone I know is interested in making her TFP avatar an animated gif. So, we saved the animated gif that she likes to the desktop of our home computer directly from the website. Then, we went into TFP - User CP - Edit Avatar and uploaded the file we'd just saved. However, the new avatar was not animated on TFP.
So, I tried the exact same process step-by-step at work the next day and it worked perfectly. Once again, tried it at home and it didn't work. The file is animated on the home computer and every graphics program we have recognizes it as animated, but when we upload it to TFP from home, it is not animated. When I try it from work, it is magically animated on TFP. Of course all I have to do is upload her new avatar from work, but we'd still like to know why it doesn't work from home. Is there something that needs to be toggled differently somewhere? Firewall tweaking? Any ideas?

I'd like to say I have the answer, but I don't. The reason I'm adding to this is that I have an animated gif that isn't animated when I open it with my viewer, but it is animated in IE. I wanted to e-mail it, but the times I tried, it wasn't working.
I'm hoping whoever answers your question will answer mine as well. |

I had the same problem in the past with several of my clients. There problem seemed to be more with myspace or facebook. After clearing the cache and checking for the latest versions of java and flash... the problems seems to be fixed. I don't really know why that fixed it but it did, it's sure worth a shot!
