Dreamweaver Emergency!
I use DW MX to build my sites and I don't do it with code. But I do check the code and can make some correction if need be. Here's the problem:
I recently switched my host from one that uses an https folder to a V-Deck that uses a public_html one. After some trial and error, I got my pages up, changed the ftp so that any changes to the pages (I add and remove images quite often) would auto-load. Online, the site looks fine. But in DW, the pages come up with all broken links! The code looks fine-all thumbs and images are correctly placed and linked with a browse-to on mouse click. But they're broken in view design. I even tried doing one or two over and they're the same as they were, except now I can see them. Some of what I do: all links to the pages are jpg's inserted into tables and then linked to the corresponding pages. All thumbs are in subfolders corresponding to their main folder which is page-specific. The pages are not in a seperate folder-they are individually listed in the site folder itself(putting them into their own html folder was causing issues with the host) Why are they showing as being broken when they aren't? Do I have to redo this site from scratch to match to the host folders? Or is there something in the coding that merely is not allowing me to see the thumbs and the page construction? DW's 'support' is nothing of the sort really and I'm not savvy enough to know a quick way to remedy this without starting over. ![]() ARRRGGGHHH!!!! ![]()

I'm not really sure about Dreamweaver, but are your images saved to folders locally that mirror the online setup?
example - Online you have ../public_html/images/artwork/artworkTM/cathyspooky.jpg (what i can make out from your image) and on your computer you have ../some_folder/images/artwork/artworkTM/cathyspooky.jpg Where in relation is the html file? Online ../public_html/htmlfile.html Offline ../some_folder/htmlfile.html <--where ../some_folder/ is the same as the some_folder in the images part.

If you have things set up the way you like them online, you could just "get" that part of the site, which would overwrite whatever was on your local drive and replace it with the properly set up folder tree.

I tried the 'get'-that didn't help. I posted this thread in chat this morning, along with the code for things I could see and things that were broken. Turns out that the code had put a '../image as the source. I had to go thru all 12 pages (times about 40 images and 40 'browse to' and remove all the .. Problem solved. All images are now read as '/image and can be seen in DW.
Although I also found out that using 'upload on save' doesn't work for images inserted-I had to re-upload the image folder as well. Whew!!! Thanks, all.
