FUBAR = Client #1
SNAFU = Client #2 GRUNT = Server Other names in my list, as in planning to use, are "bitch" (definitely for a client), "shred" (for a printer of course), and generally any other five letter acronyms or words that fit the general profane nature of my naming scheme. |

My linux desktop is named "Batman"
my old iBook was named "broke" because it had no level two cache anymore (a horrible pun, but sadly true, oddly enugh it still booted and ran for 6 months with few or no errors, but quite slowly)

Originally my computer was named "Odin". Funny thing was, in Norse mythology Odin hung himself on a tree, dead, for seven days to get the knowledge of the world. So last year my computer decided to die for seven days. Refused every OS I gave it, even BSOD'd a Linux install.
Seven days after it crashed, took XP Pro cleanly. I now call it Janine to solve all problems.

Bob
I too subscribe to the Bob naming Scheme, although i've started to deviate since too many Bobs really are a bad thing. Here goes.
Windows XP Machine: Bob-jr FreeBSD Machine: Bob3 SPARCstation IPX: DrLazarus (points to whoever gets this reference) SPARCstation 5: Gemini HP Envizex: Bobhp Wife's Computer: Bandit 386sx NetBSD: Tinybob (Retired) Router: Freebird I'm planning on naming my next computer Wiggles, after watching an episode of Futurama where Bender insisted on calling Fry "Wiggles" after he was made captain of the ship. I dont know why I found it funny really. hmm. |
