Windows Media Player Series 9
 

Hi there.

I have just updated to Windows Media Player Series 9 and have a couple of questions:

1) It has decided to change the album titles on the menu bar to: album title (artist name).
So where before I saw: Big Calm..... I now see..... Big Calm (Morcheeba).
How can I get it to show just the album title?

2) I see there is an option to "Rename and rearrange music using media information". Now some of its features look useful, but I am nervous that it will play merry hell with my files. Is it worth it?

Anybody have any opinions on Media Player 9?
Is it better or worse than the last version?

Windows Media Player 9 supports a wider variety of codecs, is more stable and has more features than it's predecessors.

That said, get Winamp.

All I can say is read the EULA, it will scare you. By installing media player 9 you gave MS the right to check and block copyrighted mp3s and vids on your machine, think I am crazy read the EULA.

I'm not impressed with it, sorry. I need a new video player...

Just did a restore to get rid of it.

The only thing I use WMP for is vids and CDs. CoolPlayer kicks ass for MP3 files. If I could find a suitable replacement for WMP, I'd do it in half a heartbeat. Oh, fuck Winamp.

i love wmp9. it is so much better than 8. i have all of my mp3's in the music library and i use it to play all my divx's and such. the two things i love the most about it:
1.) windows media toolbar. you can minimize wmp so all the controls are in a nice little bar (like a minimized program) on the toolbar. then when a song changes, a small screen pops up for a few seconds.
2.) the slider takes up the whole window instead of 2 inches like wmp8 does.

i like that wmp9's automatic play lists, it sorts them into weekend, night play lists etc.

WMP9 if you 're a novice and like kewl features, Winamp 3.0 if you're a above average computer user and like kewl features.

I hate Winamp 3.0, it's just too slow. I use 2.91 personally.

As far as WMP goes I'm happy with 6.4 but I did install WMP9 so that I could view these HD Quality WM9 Files.

That 1080p Coral Reef Adventure clip owns my PC! :(
