undelete utility for ntfs

I'm looking for an undelete utility for WinXP (NTFS). A cursory google search turned up several options, but being unfamiliar with them and their makers, I don't particularly want to install something that might contain all sorts of malware.

Has anyone used one that you trust and would recommend?

I've used File Scavenger a few times and it recovered some things that other utilities missed. It's not free but simple search on some Torrent sites may provide you with a copy.

FreeUndelete works well.

I know this might be obvious but be sure you aren't doing anything that would write to that disk. Booting, browsing, downloading, etc.

Yeah - the machine I'm hoping to recover files from is sitting idle with a warning not to touch it.

Thanks for the replies - I'll check them out.
