Contacts in windows mobile
Hi all,
I just got me a new mobile that is essentially a PDA, running Microshite windows mobile 5. I've got most of it working how I want but one thing I can't figure out and is driving me nuts: When I save stuff to contacts, it stores it as surname, first name. Thus, I type in "The Wife", and it saves it as "Wife, The". I type in "Dave Munt" and it saves it as "Munt, Dave", and most annoying, I type in "The Shilton Arms" (A pub we regularly call to book a table), and it saves it as "Arms, The" - Useless and incredibly annoying! I've hunted through every damn option on there and I cannot tell it to save the names as they are typed in and not to show what it thinks is the surname first. Help? Please? :| |
If it is anything like Microsoft Outlook, you have to open every single contact and change the nickname line from "Wife, The" to "The Wife". I've yet to find an easy way to get this changed to first last by default

In Outlook, you do it by
Tools --> Options --> Contact Options --> "Select the default setting for how to file new contacts " And then you can change the "File As" order to First Last, not Last, First. |
See, thats too easy.

How I wish it were like Outlook - I use that at work and am forever setting up other peoples copies to display like that. No, the options list has only two options in it, both useless and irrelevant. Grr...
