iPod problem, please help
Hi all. My 4GB iPod mini has freaked out. It shows no songs under "music" but in the "About" field I show only 109 MB free. iTunes says I have to do a factory reset because it can't see the iPod. How can I do a factory reset? I've tried the center button/menu reset. Help!!!

just download the ipod updater software, install it, connect the ipod and click factory reset, its like a 2 choice menu..restore or update firmware. after that fireup itunes and resync.

While the iPod is hooked up to the computer you can push the menu and center button and hold it for like 6 seconds and that will reset it, I hope that helps.
It did mine... |
When I try to launch the updater, I get asked if I want to uninstall the updater. Very frustrating.

Hi all, I had to run updater on another computer. Now all is well. Do Not Disconnect Your iPod Without Killing It It Windows First.

That should be a given shouldn't it? I mean the screen flashes DO NOT DISCONNECT and all? ;) Yeah the PC was probably writing some data to the pod when you pulled the plug and something went and got itself corrupted. Good thing you had it backed up. |
