im looking in purchasing some speakers for my living room. i dont have a reciever yet but found these on sale. i was just wondering what to look for when shopping and comparing systems. is this a good deal for $400?

i think that is a great deal for jbl speaker set. Personally tho I like the floor standing speakers for the front better then satellites. If you do get these speakers, I would make sure that the receiver you buy will handle 7.1 surround, since you can setup two in front, two in the middle and two in the back for excellent sound. If you are looking for a good inexpensive receiver, check out the Onkyo TX-SR503 for around 300.
