Open a command prompt and run 'systeminfo'
-Start > Run -Enter 'cmd' (no quotes) -Enter 'systeminfo' (no quotes) it will index some things, and your Original Install Date will be on line 10

You are welcome! I used it when I was helping someone at work do asset tracking for computers and equipment

It baffles me why MS doesn't include that in Home. The same registry entry exists, but it's in internal format so painful to extract quickly. msinfo32 doesn't decode it. Ends up being easiest to use the creation date of \windows.

*checks properties of the windows folder*
*runs systeminfo again* Curses, I am off by 8 hours! Creation date of Windows is before the Original Install Date.

Multiple installs?
Lots of folders inside should share the actual install date. Many mod dates never change. View by details. Look for matches to \windows\system, etc. Earliest common date on or after /Windows' date is a good rule. Or just run something like PC Wizard.
