computer speakers
for some reason, my computer speakers aren't working correctly. for instance, when i listen to music off of the internet, they work fine, but when i try and listen to music from a video or a cd in windows media, it doesn't work. any idea peoples? i've checked all the wires and they are plugged in. i'm perplexed....thanks

is everything unmuted in the Volume settings?
you may need some codecs also. I would check all your mute settings first, however. |
It's almost certainly not a problem with the speakers per se.
Go to sound properties and bring up the mixer. Look to see where those slider are, because there are different volume controls for various kinds of sound output. |
Sounds as if your system is trying to transfer audio tracks via a non-existent analog connection.
