I feel a bit wary of using this, but supposedly it is an OK site.

Why don't you just get the "View this page in IE" extention and use IE to update windows if you think this site is too shady for you?

That's what I've been doing, and continue to do.

I just posted this because some people have gone to great lengths to disable MSIE entirely.

Honestly, if you were going to that much effort to disable IE, you shouldn't be running Windows. I like Firefox, but if a site won't work with FF, I'll use IE. No skin off my teeth.

actually, this just convinced me to go to Firefox. I've been putting it off for ever, mainly because I haven't had too many problems with IE. However, if this will work to loosen Microsoft's grip on my comp, thats all the reason I need to switch.
