Odd link in Private Message - Tilted Forum Project Discussion Community

When you're in the list private message section of the User CP, below the combo box there is a link that looks like this

"You have 2 confirmed and 1 unconfirmed private message receipts."

When I click on the link, it takes me to a page that says:

1. Your user account may not have sufficient privileges to access this page. Are you trying to edit someone else's post, access administrative features or some other privileged system?
2. If you are trying to post, the administrator may have disabled your account, or it may be awaiting activation.

Sup with that?

I've had that in mine forever....I gave up trying to figure out what it was

They haven't released permission for that. Being the sleuth that I am, I would deduce it is for the benefit of the Admin and Mods (maybe all the users) so that if they were PM'ed that no one could see if they ever really read it. Giving you the impression: "Did they read it??? Maybe they accidentally deleted it? Should I send another? Did they read it but ignore me?" Thus effectively leaving you to ponder the "what-ifs". And nulling any potenital PM spamming/stalking in hopes of being un-ignored b/c... you'll never know!

But I find this lack of trust insulting. I never spoke up about it b/c I knew no one would listen with the intent to lift the restriction. These kinds of things get tossed to the curb as I've found with other nuances across the board. I mean there's only a handful of things I'd like to fix about TFP but the suggestions are never honored and for the simplicity of them, it makes you wonder.

I could be totally wrong on the matter in that the function was simply never activated for the bandwith issues it adds [if any], or maybe it was an upgrade bug that was never addressed though I severely doubt that since this function was never available on all the previous TFP versions I was on. This being my 3rd [refer to the sig].

Anyway, waiting for another mod/super mod/admin to waltz in here and deem the doable undoable. Sorry for the pessimism but I haven't been too enthusiatic concerning suggestions for the TFP now since midpast my tenure.
