Hardwired and GrassyKnoll problem
There is a small error in the source code on Hardwired and GrassyKnoll skin, which prevents images from displaying on the home page (http://www.tfproject.org). I looked around in the source code and found this small error. The problem is that by image source urls are missing "ftp/" infront of them. For instance:
Code:
img alt="Tilted Forum Project" border="0" src="images/hardwired/tfproject.gif" Code:
img alt="Tilted Forum Project" border="0" src="tfp/images/hardwired/tfproject.gif" Code:
var IMGDIR_MISC = "images/hardwired/misc"; BTW, so is anyone interested in more skins??? |
I'm using Hardwired and the images come up fine..

OK, here's what I see when I open www.tfproject.org:
http://img207.exs.cx/img207/252/problem1bt.th.jpg And here's a bit of the source code: http://img223.exs.cx/img223/1526/problem23xo.th.jpg If it's just me that's getting it, then it's reallllly weird, because this happens on any computer that I log on to. |
I just tested it with Firefox (1.0+ nightly version), and I can see my avatar and that lovely picture of Phred. The only image missing seems to be the TFP logo at the top of the page; is it supposed to be there?
EDIT: Looking at your screenshot, I don't have the dropdown arrows after Chat, Journal, etc; however, they do show up on the Forum pages. |

hmm that's odd.. I don't get any rexes on any of those.. you would think if it's a coding error then I would be receiving the same thing. I did check on another machine that uses IE and I got the rexes but on my FF everything works fine.. and I'm running 2000 on this machine..

I'm in the same situation, but it never affected my browsing. I get the rexes in the same spots as shown in the screenshot, it's been like that since i've been using hardwired, which has been since it was introduced.

I switched from my wonderful teal green skin to the hardwired one just to see what it did.....I use firefox 1.0 and I see everything just fine.

The reason for this is that when Firefox cannot find a picture it does not display red x and then the alternative name of the picture. Rather, it only displays the alternative name. So you are missing the pictures, but you don't really realize it.

Here's a second error with GrassyKnoll and Hardwired. If you go to a thread that contains wide images, every other post in that thread matches the width of the widest post. In the other styles, the other posts remain at the proper page width.
