question about viewing pictures - Tilted Forum Project Discussion Community

When I view a thread on this board, and the pictures are linked automatically, does my computer think the pictures come from TPF or from the source? I hope I am asking this right. I'm not much on PC stuff.

omg, a thread here without pics

most of the pics are from other sites...easy way to find out is 'copy image location' by rightclicking on the pics...then paste the URL to see where it comes from

Trying to decide if the pics are SFW? I'd have to say that no, you shouldn't view these from work. The pics come up with the originating site, so your employer's firewall will be able to see that you're viewing content from barelylegalsluts.com

Similar to what Nuke mentioned, you can right click on a picture and look at its properties, and you'll see the source of the picture.

The page you open here on TFP will have some code in it that looks like:
img src="xxxxxxxxxxxx.xxx"

This is the html code that tells your browser to look for and then display an image with the address "xxxxxxxxx.xxx"

Thanks for that, Bobby. I guess there are worse ways to pass the time on those rainy NW days, eh? You guys figured out my little secret. Yes, I was wondering what would show up on my employer's logs if I clicked on a Titty or Wayside thread. What about that anonymizer thing? Or Kreskins? How do they work?

As great as Kreskin's post generator is; all it does is create strings of image entries. For example, if a series of images had the addresses of:
www.pornsite.com/pic01
www.pornsite.com/pic02
www.pornsite.com/pic03
www.pornsite.com/pic04
Kreskin's genterator would just "step up" the digit at the end to grab the whole series (IE: 01-25). The url is still "pornsite.com." I just made that address up BTW so don't go tracking it down.

I am not entirely sure how the anonimyzer works so I will let someone else field that questions.

One more thing, if you are browsing TFP at work and using Internet Explorer, then you may already be aware that windows keeps a copy of EVERY IMAGE YOU SEE.
