Other journal questions
Let me preface by saying that I'm very, very happy to have the TFP Journals back. I don't know, Hal, if they're a work-in-progress on your part or more will be done with them, so take that into consideration when reading this thread. It's not meant as criticism - just things I've noticed when navigating the journals. I tried to click on the ViewPoint Journal System link on the bottom to get more info, but I just get a "Cannot Find Server" page.
So anyway... 1) The list on the left: is this just going to be an ever-growing list that has the names of everybody who has done an entry on the new system? Is this going to eventually change back into the “most viewed” and “most entries” list? 2) What is the point of the “Buddy List” at the top? Seems to just take me back to my User CP page for buddies. 3) It seems that every entry now has its own individual link (lower left hand corner) which is very cool, except that when I click on one, it seems to only bring me to the top of the whole page – not to the individual entry. Obviously there are some bugs in the comment sections, which Maleficent mentioned in another thread here. But I already have noticed some improvements: The other day, when I clicked on “discuss,” I got a long link of previous comments for a number of entries – but now they seem to be tied to each entry. Only other comments I have on this is that there’s no way to see, unless you click, if anybody’s commented. (It doesn’t say “3 comments” or anything like that anymore.) Also, when you click on the comments, there’s a navigation in the lower left corner that lets you go to different pages (mine says “Page 1 of 115” no matter what comment page I’m on), but it just brings you back to the journal main page. Anyway, just some thoughts/things I've noticed. Thanks again for getting the journals back up.
