Question about quotes.
how can I highlight a certain part of a post as a quote so that I can use it as an illustration of point or so that i can repond to that part specifically?
|
Click quote.
Keep the bracketed (Quote) ............ (Quote) intact. Delete the unwanted text. And. EG: (Quote) insert the good stuff here (Quote) Hope that helps. |
If you use Firefox, there's an extension named Paste Quote. Select the text, right-click and pick "Paste Quote" off of the contextual menu, and paste where you want it.

*dubious edit: Umm....since we're in tilted suggestion...any idea why 'code' doesn't supercede the 'quote' tag up there? AFAIK it should have displayed (quote)you need end tags(/quote) instead of just putting the quote in the box... :hmm: |

[quote]like this?[quote/] i think i'll just stick to the Quote:
|
use [quote] [ /quote] (take out spaces in the [] to make it work if you want it to direct to a certain user then use [quote=user] text text text [ /quote] again no spaces
