I asked a few mods on IRC about this, and they tried to help me but they really need an answer from a higher-up, (meaning Hal). I agree. So here's the issue --

I'd like to start a thread in Tilted Music about "Antagony's MP3 of the Moment". The idea is that I'd set up a little webpage/script on my own server where TFPers could grab *one* MP3 for their enjoyment. The purpose is sort of to give people something to listen to and possibly broaden their musical interests.

Naturally this brings up some copyright issues.

Errr, firstly it should be noted that the actual link I post in TFP will be to a webpage and not a direct link to the song. I think that may affect the legality a bit.

I might argue that most of the content inside the Titty Board is in fact copyrighted material and is displayed in the most direct of methods. Therefore, I believe any issues concerning the Titty Board would be almost directly applicable to my stated idea, except possibly less so due to the fact that the music is not directly linked on the board.

Sure, there's always the worry of some RIAA goons getting involved. But does that same worry not exist with the Titty Board? I could also point out that I'm not going to have full albums available for people to rape. The RIAA targets the mass uploaders and traders. There would also be no trading involved.

So personally, I think that this is feasible. I believe a lot of people might enjoy this type of thing.

However, I respect this board, its members, its moderators, and its owner. Thus I will wait for your approval (and possibly even operational guidelines).

If in the end I am vetoed, then I'll understand. I could always revert to just posting non-copyrighted MP3's (although that would be really boring).

Other options could also be explored, such as not having a thread about. Maybe I post about it once and "forget" about it. Or maybe I just kind of every-once-in-awhile post a link and be like "OH HEY, LOOK AT THIS CRAZY WEBSITE I FOUND!"
