Rating Threads
I seem to recall someone's signature encouraging members to rate threads. However I wasn't able to find a way to do that... Usually it's in the form of a drop-down box at the end of the page, so I assume rating's disabled. Am I correct in my assumption? Just curious.

It depends on what forum you are in. Most, if not all of the discussion and interest forums do not have a rating option. The other ones do. Its all about what you are looking at. :)
