Okay I posted something in a forum today and the pictures didn't load. (Even though I previewed them... bonus points on how the original poster managed that.)

So I immediately tried to delete the post via an edit... but it seems that I don't have privs to delete my own posts. What gives?

if people can delete their posts at will, it basically gives them carte blanche to say/do anything they want. you can edit your own posts all to hell, but we'll leave removal of anything to the staff. if you decide you've sufficiently fucked up and want a particular post gone, click the "report this post to a moderator" button and let us know you want it gone.

I'll answer anyway. I don't browse specific forums, I use the "View recent posts" thingie on the top of the main page. And, I certainly read Ladies Lounge posts while doing this, gotta get that insight. If you aren't careful, you can reply before you realize that you aren't in General or Sexuality.

I've been lucky so far, but there have been a couple close calls where I've written the post, and pause for just a moment before hitting Submit.
