how much inactive time passes before an account is deleted?
I've had to reregister twice for this forum. So how much time passes with not logging in before an account is deleted? Losing my post count sucks, and yes I do agree quality > quantity.
And as an admin of another popular forum on the net, I'm kind of curious as to why you'd delete users in the first place. Maybe after a year of inactivity, but a month? I'm not flaming, just curious. Thanks.

Actually, Hal doesn't delete accounts. However, a few months ago both the main HD AND the backup HD failed and everything was lost. This was in April. If your account that you think was deleted was after that, then maybe we need to look into if it was something else - but that's my guess as to what it is.

no it was after April. I emailed Hal back on 05/05 asking why my account was deleted, and got a response to reregister....that must've been after the HD crash (sucks to hear about that BTW) so I did on that day. I came back today, and got invalid username and was able to re-register the same username. so unless you're wrong on the timing of the drives failing then the account was deleted.

it could only be a system error, because we simply don't delete accounts. it's unfortunate, but apparently you're back and running without much issue beyond the loss of postcounts. as far as that's concerned, there's more important things in life to worry about than the number of posts you have on record.

as secretemethod alluded to above, we don't remove user info (or any data associated with the tfp, halx has a thing for bulging-full hard drives), we simply deny access. again, it seems like your problem was a glitch, but i assure you, nothing intentional. you wouldn't be sitting there staring back at my smiling(?!) face if we didn't want you here.
