Blog Posts...
Now, I have a bad habit of counting my posts. I don't really know why, cause I really don't care. I think I just like to know where I'm at.
Because of this bad habit, I noticed that blog comment posts don't count towards post total. As I said, I don't care about my post total. I already have access to everything. There's no reason for me to care anymore. I'm just posing a question: Why don't blog comment posts count towards your post count? They're, often times, of more quality than most things posted on the main board, it's contributing to the community, and any newcomer that comes in and actually pays attention to the blog section (took me two years to start using it) deserves the extra posts, if you ask me. So, you know, just wondering.

Maybe because it doesn't contribute to the forum as a whole? It's a separate system? Blogs are super sneakret and stuff.
Maybe it's like going to someone's bedroom to talk during the party as opposed to staying out in the living room while everybody is doing beer pong and taking body shots off that ho-bag Sheena while AC/DC is shaking the house. You only get credit for putting yourself out there. |

I'm not directly familiar with the blog software, but I'm pretty sure the explanation is far simpler: it's just not something the software can do.
I'll look into it, but remember that blogs are a feature we added on top of the vBulletin software we use for the site. I'd be pretty surprised if there were any way to count blog posts.

The blog software and the forum software are separate. Consider blog "entries" and forum "posts" - in that an "entry" will not add to your "post" count.
