Posting of links
So I have read the TFP Forum Guidelines, twice.
I know that link posting is allowed in some of the forums, like the Titty Board and Off The Wayside, but the majority of those seem to be imbeded. I'm wondering, say I'm in politics or philosophy, can I post external links to other sites? Be it CNN or anywhere? Or is copy/paste better? Is the posting of links considered "site plugging"? Just making sure what I'm doing so I don't piss anyone off! |

No, none of that is site plugging. If you're in GD, Politics, etc. we would prefer you to link to the story that you're quoting.
We consider site plugging to be something where you have a stake as an owner, employee or contractor. So if you're going to link to sites that pay you for those links, expect to hear from the staff. But CNN and news sites are going to be fine, as are most blogs. Now, if you own a site and want to plug it, please discuss it with the staff first. Let me know if you have questions or need a judgement call on anything.
