In the little welcome box at the top right, where it says "welcome, you last visited: ..... " , it says I have 1 notification. When I go to my inbox, I have no messages... am I missing something? Are there other places to have notifications? thanks

yeah, the counters weren't reset when the messages were purged. Making small changes will reset your individual counters. The reason why I dont reset counters is because it would take DAYS for it to run, and it would reduce post counts.
