Dock Time....

So, how long do you get to write a post? :D

If there is a time limit, can someone tell me how to have more of it?!!! Oh, I could use it for holding on to my youth, however, I'll take a longer time limit for my posts/threads here for the time being!

Can anyone help an ole southern gal out??

Cynthetiq 09-07-2006 05:36 PM

what do you mean how long? you mean how many letters???? there are some lengthy posts by some, but you'll find that many won't read posts that are too long.

SugahBritches 09-07-2006 06:02 PM

(thinks to herself that she has been a little to longlettered for some audiences here) :D

**cough**

Uh...........no. :D What I mean was that while I am being LONGLETTERED, my time to post seems to "time out". Meaning that I lose my long post and find myself trying to gather up some more words for another long post!

My time to post runs out and I have to sign back on the site and rewrite another one. But, if there is no timing mechanism to HOLD me signed in for longer, then I must make my posts shortlettered. Which might get me banned and I would never have the chance to really get to READ such creative thoughts that some fine folks are projecting on this site.

WHEW!!! Did that make better sense Cynth?

I bet you're not checking the "Remember Me?" box when you login. I don't know how long the timeout is, but if you check that box, your problem should go away.

SugahBritches 09-07-2006 06:28 PM

Oh, I haven't!!!! So that would do it???? Hot dog!!!

Thank you Fres!!! I appreciate it. I was about to give up!

15 minutes. If I'm going to take any longer than that for a post, I'll open up the "Currently Active Users" from the front page above the names of the users online. It automatically refreshes itself on a pretty regular basis, so you don't have to worry about any sort of timeout.

Cynthetiq 09-07-2006 07:46 PM

makes much more sense... you've got about 15 minutes I think before the cookie times out if you aren't allowing it to "remember you"

I use a program call FASS because it allows me to spend time formulating my posts and also format it with bold, colors, URL, images, etc.

I can also save those drafts and work on them again later. Cut and paste and you're done.

good luck!
