A ? about signature rules
I read the rule about sites within the signature, and wanted clarification. This is because I have seen addresses in signatures here before.
If the site is not mine, and if absolutely no financial gain is made by clicks is posting a site alright? The site Im referring to is http://www.allamericangold.com/ and this is to offer a view at a real time national debt clock Thanks for your time

I was told to take down my link to the red cross's donate blood page, the only ones they allow to my knowledge are to pages in the forum.

Dilbert has it correct - the only links allowed in signatures are those that travel to someplace on TFP. If there are some we have not caught, please let the staff know by sending us a PM. Thanks!

the sig file is supposed to be a place of expression about you, not to further any type of personal agenda.

I tried the the HTML direction before Chi had done that post. I did so only with the intention of a running clock that would have been 1 line. It didnt work, but the point is I did so after referring to the rules about signatures. I'm not questioning what your stating here, but it might be worth adding to the rules. As for the second part of your statetment: I've seen many types of sigs here, some have made sense, some havent- but each with a personal agenda of expressing who they are, what they feel, etc. A majority have not been jibberish which means the the authors have a goal to invoke some sort of thought to what kind of person they are. It may help to add "the sig file is supposed to be a place of expression about you, not to further any type of personal agenda". It's honestly the first time I've seen what the accepted definition is. The only challenge that's left is defining personal agenda. As stated above it may be someones personal agenda that the reader understands their sig so they can understand something about them or what they are wanting to express. SIGNATURES No site plugs are allowed in signatures unless you have PAID for them. Maximum signature length should be 5 or 6 lines. You will be asked to edit if a lengthy signature frequently eclipses the length of your posts.
