Mark all forums read.

How about a Mark all forums read feature in each section, not just the main window?

Oh, yeah. For some reason, don't know if it's just me, or anyone else is having the issue, the thread still has the New Posts icon even after I read it. I have to refresh the page after going to it via a link (not Back button).

um there is a mark all forums read feature in each forum its in the forum tools drop down list above the thread listing on the right hand side.

of course hitting your back button isnt going to change it.....why would it? "going back" doesnt do anything about refreshing the page

Yeah....uh....what she said

I meant that I don't hit the back button, I go back to the main forum window via a link and the posts still appear not read. When I click refresh then it changes to read. Didn't notice the forum tools list, sorry.

Edit:
Just checked out that mark all forums read feature under Quick Links, and it marks all sections of the forum read. What I was talking about is a link to mark only one section, like Tilted Knowledge, Tilted Humor, etc., read and leave all the others the way they are.

Don't mean to double-post, but what do you guys really think about the mark all threads read in individual sections of the forum, like mark all posts in tilted knowledge read?

I fixed my read post issue, btw. I had the settings setup so it does not check for newer versions of webpages, so it would only redownload the webpage if I refreshed. I did, however notice, that whenever I post something it always marks that thread as not read. Would it be possible to fix this?? Putting an All posts read link in each section would sort of get rid of a need for fixing this though.

It may depend on the theme you are using to browse the TFP, but most themes have a button called "Forum Tools" at the top of each forum. If you click this, there is an option that says, "Mark this Forum Read". This is what you are looking for.

I'm using the TFP v4.0 and the only link that I can find, is the one in the Quick Links (and at the bottom of the main page), but those links mark every single post in the whole forum read, instead of just marking the section read.

EDIT: Never mind, found it. God I'm so dumb....

Alright, my final "problem" with read and unread posts. Whenever I post, and go back to the forum window, the thread that I just posted in appears as unread. Is it just me, or is someone else experiencing this as well??

I have that problem, too. It just doesn't bother me that much, so I haven't pursued fixing it. :)

Ah, okay, I didn't read what you wrote very carefully. Yeah, that happens to me too. I can't say for sure, but it might be a default (for some odd reason).
