slight modification of the search function
know how when browsing the forums there's that little marker that tells you what thread you've posted in? is there any way that could be made available on the search function too? i was just browsing and i figured that would be quite useful, especially when searching for your own name. just a thought.

in that situation, when i want to findall of my posts or sone specific one in particular, i simply enter my name into the "search by user name" field along with whatever context parameters i'm looking for.
is that what you were hoping to accomplish?

No, not exactly. It's like this... say you want to find threads in which you're mentioned so that you can respond. You go the regular search function and type in your username. But there's no indication as to whether you posted in any of the threads that come up. If the same indication is used as you get when you're browsing regularly, you can find the ones that you haven't seen yet a lot easier. It goes the same for other things too. You search, find an interesting thread, wonder if you've posted in it before or not. It'll just save people time. Me at least.

I just did a test run to see if what you were saying was true and it was. BUT, it's done like that on purpose. All the results you get ARE yours. You are guaranteed to have posted in them. That's why there's no need for that icon you keep referring to. If you just want posts go to the bottom and filter them out with the option: Show results as posts. And you're done!
